Operatives of the Ogun state Police command have apprehended a middle-aged man identified as Oluwaseun Fakoyejo for unlawful possession of arms.
Naija News understands that Fakoyejo was arrested at the venue of the inauguration of Prince Dapo Abiodun as governor of the state at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta.
The arrest was prompted after an intelligence report that some hoodlums were visiting the inauguration ground to cause mayhem and to disrupt the inauguration process.
Fakoyejo was arrested with a single barrel pistol and four live cartridges. He was arrested after the departure of the governor and some dignitaries who were present at the event.
He was arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) who were assigned to maintain tight security at the venue.
While confirmation the arrest, the state Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama has ordered a thorough investigation of the suspect and ordered a manhunt for his fleeing accomplices.
